한국외대 영자신문사 The Argus에서 과월호 표지디자인을 모집합니다.

한국외대 부속기관 외대신문사 소속 The Argus는 1954년도에 설립되어 64년 외대의 역사와 함께한 교내 영자매거진사로, 매달 1개씩 한 학기동안 총 4번의 과월호가 발행됩니다.

The Argus의 표지디자인은 매달 선정된 커버스토리 내용을 바탕으로 제작됩니다. 2023학년도 2학기부터 표지를 이미지 생성형 AI ‘DALL-E2’를 이용해 자체적으로 제작해 왔으나 이번 12월호부터는 더 좋은 표지 제작을 위해 학우들을 대상으로 표지디자인을 모집합니다.

●   지원 자격: 한국외대 소속 학생 (휴학생 포함, 졸업생 제외)

●   지원 혜택: 최종 디자인으로 선정될 시 디자인 제작 비용 15만원 지급 (기타소득세 8.8%)

●   공모 일정:

a.    디자인 마감: 2023년 11월 26일(일) 24:00

b.    디자인 선정 발표: 2023년 11월 29일(수) 학교홈페이지 게시

●   지원 방법:

a.    생성형 AI (DALL E2, 미드저니 등)를 이용해 표지, 뒷표지를

규격(1840x3249 px)에 맞게 제작

b.    생성형 AI에 디자인 입력한 프롬프트 스크린캡쳐 (예시 첨부된 파일 참고)

c.    아거스 공식 이메일 (hufsargus@gmail.com)로 파일 송부

●   12월호 커버스토리 내용:

10.29 이태원 참사와 관련한 심리적 반응을 주제로 참사가 생존자, 유가족 그리고 일반 시민들에게 남기는 충격과 그로 인한 고통의 모습들을 조명. 참사가 발생한 지 1년이 지난 지금 “공감과 연대가 트라우마 극복의 지름길이 될 수 있다”는 메시지와 함께 정신적 상처에 대응하는 바람직한 국가의 모습과, 국민 개개인이 할 수 있는 일을 고민하고자 함.

●   주의사항:

a.    반드시 이미지 생성형 AI로 제작된 디자인일 것

b.    정해진 규격에 맞을 것 (단위: 픽셀)

c.    3가지 제출 사항: ⓵표지, ⓶뒷표지, ⓷프롬프트 스크린샷

*위 3가지 사항을 모두 지켜야 혜택 대상자 자격 주어짐

The Argus, the campus English magazine, is recruiting cover designs for the upcoming issue.

The Argus was established in 1954 and has been published monthly for the students of HUFS, contributing to 64 years of the university’s history.

The cover design for The Argus is based on the content selected for the cover story each month. Starting from the second semester of the 2023 academic year, covers have been created using the image-generating AI ‘DALL-E2.’ However, starting from the December issue, The Argus is seeking cover designs from students to enhance the quality of the covers.

l   Eligibility: HUFS-affiliated students (including those on leave, excluding graduates).

l   Benefits: A payment of KRW 150,000 upon the final selection of the design. (8.8% for miscellaneous income tax)

l   Application Schedule:

a)       Deadline: November 26, 2023 (Sunday), 24:00

b)      Announcement of Selected Designs: November 29, 2023 (Wednesday), posted on the school website

l   How to Apply:

a)   Use image-generating AI (DALL-E2, Midjourney, etc.) to create cover and back cover designs in the specified dimensions (1840x3249 px).

b)   Capture the prompt screen of the design entered into the AI (refer to the attached example file).

c)   Submit the files to the official Argus email (hufsargus@gmail.com).

l   December Issue Cover Story:

The focus is on the psychological responses related to the Itaewon Tragedy that occurred on October 29. The intention is to illuminate the impact of the tragedy on survivors, bereaved families, and the general public, showcasing the shock and resulting pain. One year after the incident, the narrative aims to explore the portrayal of a desirable national response to mental wounds. Alongside a message stating, “Empathy and solidarity can be a shortcut to overcoming trauma,” the reflection includes contemplating what actions both the nation and individuals can take in responding to the psychological scars.

l   Notes:

a)       Designs must be created using image-generating AI.

b)      Designs must adhere to the specified dimensions in pixels.

c)       Three submissions are required: cover, back cover, and prompt screen capture.

* Compliance with all three criteria is essential for eligibility, regardless of the final design selection.

l   Copyright: The participating creator is considered to consent to the organizer’s use of the submitted work through reproduction, distribution, and transmission methods within the necessary limits to achieve the purpose and objectives of the competition.
