This course enables students to learn grammar through
sentences and familiarize themselves with various
unique aspects of Spain and Latin America.
* Elementary Spanish Oral Test (1), (2)
Situations that are appropriate for the elementary
level and corresponding sentences are determined for
students to memorize. By having students recite the
sentences out loud in front of other students, this
course enables students to improve their presentation
skills and their level of command over sentences. Through
this process, students increase their level of understanding
and familiarity with Spanish sentences and are guided
to use appropriate sentences in actual situations.
* Elementary Spanish Grammar (1), (2)
As the most basic course in learning Spanish, this
course enables students to learn elementary grammatical
structures.
* Elementary Spanish Composition (1), (2)
Students master grammar knowledge that they have acquired
by practicing composition.
* Elementary Spanish Conversation (1), (2)
A foreign professor conducts all classes in Spanish
to allow students to become comfortable with Spanish.
In contrast with audiovisual Spanish, which focuses
on listening, this course places the focus on speaking.
By designating three hours for each class, the importance
of what is practiced in the class is emphasized and
students are presented with an opportunity to come
into contact with a professor whose mother tongue is
Spanish as much as possible.
* Elementary Spanish (A/V) (1), (2)
Students come to comprehend the language and cultural
environment of nations speaking Spanish through audio-visual
materials. They also improve their listening skills
through concentrated listening training.
* Current Issue Debate in Spanish (1), (2)
Before class, students read materials and familiarize
themselves with relevant content with regard to a general
theme, such as the customs, traveling, geography, and
sports of Spanish-speaking nations. They then engage
in discussions in Spanish, with the professor performing
the role of an MC.
* Readings in Intermediate Spanish (1), (2)
A selection is made, for each genre, among the works
of famous writers of Spain and renowned writers of
Latin America, so that students can learn about the
selected works.
* Intermediate Spanish Oral Test (1)
Students familiarize themselves, through repetition,
with vocabularies and sentence patterns that are frequently
used in daily life where Spanish is used. A weekly
oral test is carried out through a recording system.
* Intermediate Spanish Oral Test (2)
Students familiarize themselves, through repetition,
Spanish vocabularies and sentences that are related
to current affairs. A weekly oral test is carried out
through a recording system.
* Intermediate Spanish Grammar (1), (2)
Examines the application of grammar as reflected in
the works of literature and how some writers artistically
deviate from the rules. Also studies the history of
grammar.
* Intermediate Spanish Composition (1), (2)
Students practice applying elementary and intermediate
grammar to actual situations, thereby developing advanced
composition skills.
* Intermediate Spanish Conversation (1), (2)
Goes beyond everyday conversation practice to achieve
a level of proficiency to speak comfortably at will
about customs and practices.
* Advanced Spanish Composition (1), (2)
Focuses on mastering grammar, analyzing the various
nuances of Spcinish, and finding the most suitable
corresponding expressions.
* Advanced Spanish Conversation (1), (2)
Develops a level of proficiency that enables communication
not only at the daily conversational level but also
at a subject-specific level, through the use of various
materials.
* History of Spanish Literature (1), (2)
This course deals with the history of Spanish literature,
including both classical and modern literature. Students
acquire basic knowledge of the history of Spanish literature,
learn how to independently interpret the main points,
and develop a humanistic way of thinking.
* Exercise of Spanish Translation (1), (2)
As a more in-depth course for Spanish translation,
this course allows students to translate film scripts,
novels, newspapers, and magazines.
* Introduction to Spanish Linguistics (1)
Based on general grammatical knowledge, this course
enables students to learn about the special phonological
structure of Spanish.
* Introduction to Spanish Linguistics (2)
By analyzing the Spanish sentence structures, students
gain a systematic and scientific understanding of extensive
Spanish expressions.
* Basic Spanish Translation
As an introductory course to Spanish translation, students
learn basic concepts and techniques.
* FLEX Spanish (1), (2)
Students effectively prepare for the FLEX test by applying
the knowledge they have gained on Spanish usage.
* Latin American Literature (1), (2)
This course introduces the literature of 20 nations
that use Spanish in Latin America.
* History of Latin American Culture (1), (2)
Studies ancient Latin American civilization before
the Spanish rule, life during colonial rule, and present
day Latin America.
* Latin American Politics (1), (2)
Analyzes the complex Latin American situation from
a political perspective and identifies the core issues.
* Basic Spanish Translation
As an introductory course for Spanish translation,
students learn basic concepts and techniques.
* History of Latin American Intelligence
This course introduces Latin American thoughts and
philosophies.
* History of Spanish Language (1), (2)
Focuses on a systematic study of the origin of the
Spanish language and its historical development for
a more in-depth understanding of modern day Spanish.
* Exercise of Spanish Interpretation (1), (2)
As a more in-depth course for Spanish interpretation,
students practice consecutive interpretation between
Korean and Spanish.
* History of Spanish Intelligence
This course introduces Spanish thoughts and philosophies.
* Modern Spain and the Society
Students engage in discussions and carry out focused
research on issues and phenomena of Spanish society.
* Current Spanish (1), (2)
Students familiarize themselves with terminologies
and sentence patterns related to current affairs, such
as politics, economy, society, and culture, by translating
Spanish articles.
* Latin American Economics (1), (2)
By researching the history of the economic development
of Latin American countries, students study the relative
importance of Latin America in the global economy.
This course promotes in-depth understanding of Latin
American economies.
* Latin American Narrative
Research will be conducted on contemporary Latin American
novels that have gained worldwide recognition as ¡°boom
novels.¡±
* Latin American Indigenous People: Society
and Culture
Students analyze the social, political, cultural, and
economic conditions of the Latin American indigenous
people.
* Latin American Spanish
Students will learn the unique Spanish spoken in Latin
America.
* Latin American Popular Culture
By reviewing the popular culture of Latin America,
students gain an understanding of the conditions of
the era.
* Latin American Poetry
Students research the poetic literature of Latin America.
* Modern South America and the Social
Students gain an understanding of the current flow
of politics, economy, social issues, and culture in
areas that use Spanish.
